Pirater’s Initiation Guide - Torrent Download
Welcome back mate. If you are new to pirating, you need to go through my guide below before you can join me on my journey. Experience it first hand and understand why we pirate. I guarantee that you will understand.
To become a pirate in the digital world, the only requirements are that you have a ship (Internet) to take you across the world wide web and bring you back the data that you want. Once you have the ship, the tools and sources can be acquired through the web. I will provide the maps and tools for you go and open your first chest.
Torrent Download
What is a torrent and what does it mean to download a torrent? Torrent is the latest P2P Sharing technology that is allowing pirates to share data easily and massively. Torrents automatically link you to other people with the information in which you download from. Basically, instead of downloading from a central source, you download from a distributed network of sources.
Requirements
- Internet: Since you are reading this, I’m assuming you have access to an internet. However, I hope that you have access to hi-speed internet, as this excersize may otherwise be painful. If not anything else, if you haven’t switched to hi-speed internet yet, the reason to pirate will.
- Application: uTorrent is the best torrent application available. Easy to use, straight to the point user interface and utilizes small amounts of system resources. You can download uTorrent by going to utorrent.com/download.php and clicking on the download link.
Now the fun and easy part.
The Pirate Bay
The Pirate Bay is the most notorious website out their known for it’s massive amount of torrent availability. Here you can practically find anything that you’d want. You do not even need to know what you are looking for. The site provides you with a directory list of all the different categories and even gives you the top 100 hot items for each of those categories.
As a starter, I recommend you click on the TOP 100 link located next to the search bar. Browse through where ever your heart takes you. When an item finds your interest, just click on it and download the torrent. I recommend downloading a torrent with higher “seed” counts.
Now all you have to do is wait for uTorrent to extract and share for you. uTorrent will by itself, connect you to others, and download and share for you. Once completed, enjoy your first pirated experience.

To answer your question, I am going to direct you to uTorrent’s speed guide. The guide from uTorrent covers all aspects to why your speed may be low and troubleshoots them individually.
I’ll briefly go over them.
1.) Connection Speed Test: After running a speed test on your line, you will be able to find out what your throughput rate will be. Please do not expect to get this rate as it is theoretical. However, on a good torrent, you should come within 20% of it.
2.) Port Settings: For optimal performance, you need to make sure that a port is dedicated and open for uTorrent. Please refer to the guide
